for sure you might need it...my t25 started to blow oil out the seals until i got the restrictor..although my problem was i got the wrong restrictor (.38) instead of the 1/16 (.60) so it is recommended that you run one..but i just drilled out the one i had to 5/64 (.78)..just incase the .60 was to low...but i'm still waiting for my THIRD turbo to arrive before i can put it on...i blew the firstone cause of the seals...the second cause of the restrictor starving the turbo of oil...now hopefully the third will be good...i'll keep you updated..

I wouldn't use anything smaller then a 3/16 restrictor.

Also, oil return is usually more of a problem when it comes to oil seals then the pressure side. No kinks and as few bends as possible. That way oil doesn't backup into the turbo at all.

now i'm just wondering...just how fast is oil returning to the return line? like water fast....or slow and steady like syrup? or like a nose bleeding? just to get a general idea...cause i've been wondering for a while now.

He's absolutely right man. My return line is about as straight as can be. The piece of pipe (welded to the oil pan) the line attaches to is forward of my engine mount almost directly under the turbo. So it's a straight line to the oil pan. I'd suggest using SS with this too.

Spray 10W-30 at 40 psi through a 3/16 port...it's coming out pretty damn fast. Thats why the return line is so large and needs to be unrestricted.

Well I'm not sure (restrictor size) but you "should" be ok. Just remember that the ka is a bigger engine then the SR so it will flow more oil. I have a custom drain flange on my t25. The diameter of the the drain piping is larger to allow the oil to drain out easier. A custom braket was made to fit it then a larger piece of pipe was welded to that.

My installer decided it was the smart thing to do so we did that and I have'nt had any drain issues that I'm aware of.

I had no restrictor but a nice unrestricted 5/8 return line. I even ported the brass fitting for smooth flow. Every little bit helps in the end. Better to do it now then have to start over later. I've been there twice now...

you guys do realize that the restrictor is on the feed side of the oil lines and not the return line...?? but the 1/16 restrictor in the line wont be too much??

well another problem, I was threading in the brass fitting into the stock oil sending unit thread...and they stripped out..so now I have to hela coil it..which sux..but it has to be done I guess..
