I need a card with dual-DVI outputs so I can add a second monitor. I am not into gaming so that is not a big deal at this point. The card needs to work with XP-Pro 64-bit (needs to have supporting drivers) and should be PCI Express.

I'm kinda leaning towards a BFG GeForce 9800 GT OC+ video card at the moment ($99 after rebate on TigerDirect).

Thoughts, suggestions and why would your suggestion be the best card?

That's the card I am using and it's awesome. It is what I would have recommended.

Can't go wrong really with anything above the 8800 series.

That's a good card if not gaming and less than half what I paid for my 4870 1GB.

Radeon HD 4830 512MB at $89 will offer similar performance to the 9800 GT, a Radeon HD 4850 512MB can be had for $129 and will offer great performance for the price. At $179 the best card is the Radeon HD 4870 512 MB if you need some more juice.

Id go Radeon they have been on top of the game lately.

9800 is a great choice... Im surprised they've gotten so cheap.

I have the 8800 gts... and I love it. It still keeps up with current gaming. but oddly there's nothing righ tnow that I love...

especially amongst FPS games.

It'll be a long, long time before I buy another Nvidia card after the extremely poor performance/experience of my old 6800 Ultra. Forceware is amazingly irritating for something that should ideally never really be seen. Performance was abysmal...often worse even than the Radeon 9800 it replaced. I ran into compatibility issues that I've never had with an ATI card. Even games supposedly designed with Nvidia cards in mind hated the card. It was easily the biggest POS video card I've ever used...and that includes my ancient Diamond Stealth 3D 2000 Pro from 1997.

My new Radeon HD 2600 (I'm AGP so my options are limited) is so much better than the 6800 it's like a whole different world. Catalyst is far superior to Forceware. I love my 2600. It runs beautifully and provides great performance for a budget card. The 6800 ultra definitely wasn't a budget card when I got it, and it still sucked. ATI has always shown more polish and functional superiority in my experience, and the 2600 certainly continues that tradition. The experiences of the two cards could not be more different.
