holy fawk, how much?

I was thinking like 7-8 max. 11 is putting it in a class near the Vader Vert...and that just ain't happening. I don't see a VQ in this vert

Even trade with me.

But I would say around $8k, maybe towards $9k if you find the right buyer.

If the Vader Vert is worth $15k, why isn't this one worth $11k?

This SR is probably pushing more power than the VQ is. It's got a lot of work done to it - expensive turbo, cams, a freaking powerfc ($1k+ by itself), front mount intercooler, exhaust manifold, etc... That's probably well over $5k just in motor stuff.

It's got a full custom interior, perhaps not quite and fancy as Mickey's.. but super nice anyhow.

It's got a fresh silvia conversion with a fresh professional paint job.

It's got nice wheels and full coilovers..

I bet he's got $15k in the car. I see no reason why he shouldn't be able to justify $11k.

Am I really off base on this?

I don't think Vader is worth $15k, so that's why I'd go lower on both.

I go with an extremely nice stock Vert with 100k or so is worth $4-$4.5 and take 1/2 the price of the upgrades basically.

No offense, but you guys need to check the pulse of your local used car market. Nothing is going for anywhere near KBB, so you can not expect modified used cars to sell for good (I'm not saying premium) money.

It's a tough market, you'd see more value trading it for a newer car that you could sell next year. Forgive my brutal honesty, but if someone would give you $7500 (or more) take it.

The truth of the matter is that a car (or anything really) is worth only what someone will pay for it.

So my statement of what the car is really worth may be much different that what you'll most likely find someone will pay for it.

Unfortunately, you guys are probably more correct than I am in your assessment of what someone will pay for the car.

I'm sure hoping he gets more for it than that.. because I'd like to see some higher sale prices to help justify the price I'd like to get for mine if I need to sell it in the near future.

So to maximize what you get for a car, are you better off returning it to stock form and selling the parts off individually? I always kept all my stock parts just in case that is true. I have a hunch that it is the truth.

If you are not in a hurry, just set a price on the high side and go from there. If no one calls, just lower the price gradually until you find a right buyer.

Actually, I know a guy who posted his slightly modded s13 w/some rare aftermarket parts at $4500, many people called and it got sold next day. He kinda regreted because he could have gotten more out of it. Anyway, just be patient. Buying and selling a car is a lot of hassle if you know what I mean.

If a seller can wait until the economy/used car market rebounds, they'll do much better. Of course de-modding a car is also usually a good way to recoup as much as possible.

well, first of all I was offered 9k for it just last weekend and rejected it. If people are willing to, off of their heads, offer that kinda dough, they are willing to pay more... Also, a friend of mine just traded a hatch with a pignose front and a stock sr, kyb and s-tech suspension, with an exhaust for a new zx-14 and 3k cash, equivalent to about 13k. I feel that i can justify pricing around 11k, but keep the comments coming I like!!

Very true, both of your points have been dead on my point of view. Although...you would probably need to hold a car for a while...i don't see the economy going anywhere soon. Not until MANY people start to protest and drive the correct point of view. Being in the construction business, We saw this coming a few years ago...and unfortunately it appears as it is not at its lowest yet.

Did you see the money? Was the guy actually good for it? I had all sorts of people offer me cash for my old coupe. Ridiculously high numbers, and they NEVER came through with it.

With times the way they are, i find it hard to believe anyone would pay anything over 10 for a 240 of this nature...But hey, prove me wrong.

I believe you absolutely are. Go back and look at the Vader Verts pictures again.

Look at his engine bay.

Do you see anything 'cheap' in there? He has EVERYTHING redone. Aside from the engine itself, he has all sorts of knick-nack upgrades. greddy radiatoroptima batterystainless braided lines everywhere possibleDo you see anything there that doesn't 'sparkle sparkle'?

Look at his strut towers, you can tell they were re-welded for more support.NO RUST, ANYWHERE

It is all beautiful work. Both immaculate work and parts. No cheap ****, ANYWHERE.

I'd keep it going, but I will choose not to. And, Just because it has more power, doesn't mean its worth more.

Not looking to argue, just throwing out points.

I say get as much as you can, whether it's the $9k offered recently or even more. To accurately/honestly give you a price/value, someone would have ot look at the car in person, research comps for similar (age, level of mods, demand, availability, etc) and go from there. Given the prices I've seen recently for any used car my guestimate will be on the low side.

No offense is meant by my "opinions".

honestly, that car is worth 11k. if you are really looking for that much, try putting on some oem stuff, and "throw in" items that you planned to sell to get that amount. or you start off with a higher amount, then work your way down to the amount desired. its kinda grimy but i know first hand thats how you get the price to what you wanted for my old hatch. gotta be a business man. gl w/ the sale though
