Basically all I need to show the court is that my 89 240sx didnt come with LSD, TCS, ABS and that its a rearwheel drive car. I wanna print something out on the internet (preferablly an official website of some sort) which can give me proofs of that. Any help will be appreciated. Thanks in advance

The fact that you slid is prima facie evidence of two things:

One - You were going too fast for conditions.

Two - You are not properly maintaining your car (bald tires).

Good luck, but you're gonna lose this one, man. Sorry.

I say he wins it, get new tires first. If not... a reduction of the ticket at least. but its the insurance that ****s ya.

Provided your record is not too spotty, and you are willing to ingratiate yourself to the judge, you can probably get it reduced to a fine and no points without too much trouble.

ahhh points on a license must suck. I have already got two tickets since June. One for "racing" (I was just spectating) and another on for 45 in a 35.

I think i have a pretty good chance to win since the cop had no idea that my car was a rear wheel drive and the way the cop was acting towards me was just too offensive... using foul language at me and such and I had SCC book on the back seat and he says to me.. "You have a SCC book in your car, I know what you were thinking" errr ok.

Anyways... he even said it that i had bold tires, and he should have probably given me a ticket for equipment, not reckless since reckless driving is something that you do intentionally.

Plus this is my first moving violation ticket ever so... hopefully everything goes well.

Any tips on how i can win this easily? :) Thanks guys.

Wear a tie and be a considerate, well spoken young man. I end up appealing just about every ticket I get, and virtually every time I've had them either droped completely or reduced to an acceptable level.I got pulled over on my motorcycle a few days after getting it, the tabs were over 10 yrs old, so the A-hole cop towed my bike and gave me an $800 ticket. {A-hole towman droped my bike and put a bigass dent in the tank, insurance paid to have it resprayed, A-hole body shop did a s h i t t y job}. Anyway, I talked to a clerk of courts and she droped it to the lowest cost ticket she could ($70). All you got to do is be nice, so many pissed idiots go in there all day, they like to see respectful people.

I think there is an offence of failure to control vehicle, or something like that. But it definitely sounds like it was not reckless driving. But that's what he ticketed you for. You can bargain with the court that you'll plea guilty to another charge of Failure to control vehicle (if it exists), if they drop the reckless driving charge. It WAS raining, so a car sliding isn’t all that uncommon, but if your tires were bald that's bad, you might want to get some new ones and bring the receipt and say you corrected the problem, and it was a problem with your car and not intentional. Your car having LSD, etc. will have no bearing. Sliding is sliding, if you're going to try to blame it on your car that's not going to work, if you say that they'll just say you should have driven in a manor which suited the setup on the car. But I’d definitely fight that. You just need to work on your defense. I'm pretty good at fighting tickets, some you can't win with some of them. Make sure you bring weather reports for that day, pictures of the area, diagrams, etc. And the cop is not allowed to use the fast that you had a racing mag in your car against you, if you mention that to the court it might help, might not. You need to look up the exact charges against you, and then look for how you DIDN’T violate the law. Don’t say that you violated it because of other reasons like you seem to be planning on doing. Hit me up on aim Hqen2000 if you’d like.

Radian is absolutely right too, do not get atude in court. State your case, if they disagree, argue inteligently, don't get pissed or tell somone they are wrong. Also, if you're certian the cop will show up, get a discovery of his notes that he'll present in court. If he has notes he has to share them with you, if he does not, extend the court date as long as you can, that way you can ask him what the conditions were that day and if he does not remember that's major points to you. Because if he does not remember **** about the ticket, how can he argue against what you're saying, wear down his credibility. But that's if it comes down to that. You basically just have to be quick, change tactics, be ready for anything.
