Hey all,

I was wondering if anyone could help me find a set of emergency brake shoes for a 1992 240SX ??

I can't pass inspection without them, and I can't find anything even that says that the car has them... but a buddy of mine says that is what I need... Any help would be appreciated.

look at your rear wheels, if you see a rotor and pads on each side.......you are good. no separate ebrake discs/pads blah blah. tell your friend he should be ashamed of himself.

what is the problem with your brakes?? do they stop ok? does your ebrake work? you can get new pads from heavy throttle, spl, mvpmotorsports. which are all sponsors, or generic ones from any local autoparts store. same thing with rotors.

E-brake, no longer works. I can pull the e-brake all the way and there is no tension. I know there is slack on the cables, but tightening them would only be a temporary fix.

yeah that definately sounds like your cables.. while the car is just sitting there pull up the ebrake, and look at the pads, and see if they are clamping onto the rotors,

1. if they are not clamping , then it is your cables

2. if you are missing pads, this could be the problem

3. tighten the 10mm nut through the little hole on the driver side of your ebrake, this makes the hand brake more sensitive, maybe yours is just extremely loose??

4. get under the car and follow the cables, see if they are broken or simply non-existent.

do these 4 things then report back to base, and let us know how it went.
