ok guys am going to go straight for the point, i just got done putting my engine back together, started right up, no issues, everything is perfect, except for the idle, i check my ignition timing and the lines are way up by the bottom of the water pump( super retarded, supposedly), but driving it feels good, there is power, more than before, or than i expected for that matter.but how, if it is supposedly that retarded, so i move my distributor to full advance, and the lines come down to what am guessing is like 25 +/- degrees btdc, and it runs better, and misfires less at idle, but it still misses, only at idle. about two years ago when i first built the engine, i used a ka24e crank, so am wondering if i got the damper pulleys mixed up and they are different, i am now using a ka24de crank but im not sure if i got the right pulley. are they different? or do i have something else wrong?

If you advanced it 5 degrees over stock, that might be what is causing the misfires as well, a grossly retarded engine will misfire, and an over advanced one will too. Try putting the timing at 20 degrees (2nd tic to the end) and see if that stops it. My car used to misfire at 22 and once I moved it back to stock it was great.
