Help me pick out a camcorder for my parents!

SO my parents decided they actually want to invest in some sort of digital camera..

Based on what they use things for, i think a camcorder would be a better plan since once they get into it, I think they will enjoy it a lot more than having still photos.

I know nothing about camcorders, because my digital camera takes videos... I know that camcorders still can take digital stills which is great, but the emphasis is on video which is what i want.

We are looking in the $250 range.. Something small is idea, not much larger than a standard digital camera.

HD for a good price plus it's small. It doesn't have any optical zoom though... I don't know if that's important to you or not.

Canon FS300

This goes a little over your price range and size. It's much more full featured though. No HD, unfortunately.

I think I would rather have optical zoom than HD for sure! BTW the canon is listed at 169 on amazon.. We'll be getting it on amazon because they have a gift card to use up.

In that case, you might want to check this one too. It has more zoom.

Sweet thanks guys for the suggestions, I'll definitely be considering the canon and the panasonic.. if anyone has any other suggestions let me know
