Post

well, just started up my rebuilt ka last saturday and have been doing multiple test runs... im gunna pull up the codes tomorrow from the ecu...

but i have two main questions...
*i got my motor from my friend and its a 93 ka, the tps has a place for a connector to go to but my 91 harness doesnt have one... the tps, like my 91, has wires coming off of it going to a connector... but the new motor has the same thing plus a spot for another connector to go to... should i swap my tps over from the old motor

*whenever i drive the ka-t it will go to 2500rpm fine, but when i get to that point i hit a brick wall and the ka studders... but if i let off the gas a littlebit, it will climb past 2500 and go to 3k...

Usually when your motor wont go past 2500rpm its a big chance its your MAF.
How does your car idle? With a maf problem you usually will have a really rough idle. Let the car idle and warm up then unplug your MAF. If your idle is good(around 700 rpm) then unplug the maf and your idle should change, usually drops really low, bogs, or dies. If this happens then your maf is good!
Now if your idle doesn't change at all when you unplug your MAF then your maf is toast you can try cleaning it but idk if that will fix it.

well i found out the reason for that other connector on my tps, the engine used to be an automatic so the extra connector was for compensation for the auto trans... duh
