Help me make the decision

V8 240sx? Sure! If either the chassis OR the engine is non-Nissan (i.e. SR20 in an RX-7 or LS1 in a 240sx), we've done it.

Actually it does...just not as much of a gain as increasing the displacement. But both points are mute if you add boost.
only if you have the supporting items does it. if you take a stock engine and increase the rev limiter you get no gain.

I'd take a 500 N/A hp + 100 shot car w/ gears revving to 8K over a boosted 600 hp car revving to 6500 ANY day given the same chassis/suspension/tires. The nitrous car would get the jump everytime and hold it.

Shall we set it up? Get you an LSx motor and let's do the damn thang. :D
Of course a nitrous car has the potential to be faster. Especially with things like the Nitrous Express Maximizer II progressive controller. But I can also run boost + nitrous FTW. Besides, it's simple fact that a boosted car will make more power per capita then any natirally aspirated combo. No matter what you increase the compression to, boost is a better option.

Plus, I can run low boost and pump gas all day, flip a switch and add some alcohol injection pretty much limits me to basically nothing.

But yes, we can do this...and will. As soon as I move out to TX in October the S14 is getting gutted man.

We both know the limiting factor is traction. Although Ivan seems to be hooking well enough to run 9's at 150+.

Have you thought about a mini tub kit? If so, hurry up and do so I can sit back an copy/paste...lol.

Waiting for the wallet to recover before I do my next round of mods. Really need to concentrate on getting my house done first. Instead of a mini tub, I might look into some over fenders like the JUN Hyper Lemon Silvia.

But yeah, traction will be an issue, which is why I'm really putting some thought into it before any more mods. I think shifting the powerband to higher rpms will help, but I'm sure it won't solve it by any means.
