OK, so I've posted in the past about this, but it keeps happening.

My check engine light comes on and the engine starts shaking. I bring it to the mechanic and he shows me how the fuel injector isn't supplying fuel to one of the valves. Then he will replace it and it will be fine, but like a few days later it will happen again and this time it's a different one!

The thing is, when I start the car and warm it up it's fine. When I shut it off and come back to it, start it up and pull out, it happens again! While I drive it down the road it clears up and the light turns off. What the hell is happening with this? What is causing it to do that?

I tried everything, I have a feeling it's something with the wiring of the fuel injection system. You guys helped out on other things before, this is really demotivating me. The lights work great from a previous problem that you guys helped with and I thank you for that.

PLEASE HELP!!!!!! Thanks!

K

first thing i would do is ohm the injectors.... see if theres any that are actually bad... I think you might be able to ohm each injector without mess with the plenum.... Thats where id start....

sorry for the short half-arsed reply, ill get back to you after i go thru the FSM a little bit.

Mine did just that !!!The injector was leaking after shut off.(During fuel rail pressure down)It may have been the injector or the lower O ring. I replaced both.If you shut off and restart say a few hours later it happens right ? then clears out.But if you park it overnight it starts up just fine right ? All the fuel went down past the rings into your oil.Smell your dipstick to confirm. It can be serious as if the cylinder is full of fuel and you crank it over you can cause hydrolock.Kiss your valve stem goodbye. Also fuel in your oil is bad .I think it borked up a seal on mine as I now have a slow leak towards the rear. I even changed the oil every other day till I got it fixed.

I just wanted to chime in and say that I had the exact same thing happen to me which turned out to be a bad injector. Actually, it's happened to me 2x already so I've replaced 2 injectors. NOTE- You need to perform the Ohm test as son as you get the shaking/missing check engine light. When I waited sometimes I failed to capture the bad injector.

Steps I took to confirm it was an injector issue:1) Retrieve engine code. Directions at this website- http://www.troublecodes.net/infinity/2) If you get an injector trouble code then use Ohm meter and check resistance on all 6 injectors. If injector is not between 10-14 Ohms it needs to be replaced. You need to test right when you have the issue or else you may not find the faulty injector.3) Print out fuzzycats injector replacement article and bust out your Dremel- http://www.fuzzycats.com/docs/...t.pdf

Good Luck!

First you have to indentify which injector it is .I just started pulling coil wires till I pulled one that didnt affect the Idle. Then I followed the instructions at Fuzzycats.com to replace the injector.Be sure and get new ORings with the injector. One lower and one upper. The lower ORing will be the smaller of the two.

I just replaced an injector using the procedure on the fuzzycats site. I ordered the injector, a couple o rings and the insulator, which was not really needed, from http://www.infinitipartsusa.com/

Grinding the plenum was a chore, but it saved me $700 compared to what the dealer wanted to replace the bad injector.

I had to buy a $10 pliers from Pep Boys, a long nose that is used for 1/2" hose, this to grab the old injector and "pull like hell."

Thanks to the folks who share insight, I'll be working the door lock problems this weekend using info from posts here.
