Hi guys, I am on a $3500 budget and was wondering if some experienced folk could look over this list that Orion ( Brian ) suggested to me after I asked for his help. ( Thanks again Brian ) So Far the current list looks to be at about $2800.

The list:

Manifold $200 - 450T3/T4, 50 trim compressor / .63 exhaust A/R and stage III wheel $600Oil lines in/out $75 JWT setup $600with either 370c injectors for up to 275rwhp, 50lb/hr for up to 350rwhp (pricing on injectors may vary due to choice please help on this.) but I'll say around $400Custom Downpipe $60CLutch $300 Intercooler Kit $500 - 800

These prices are not exact, if anyone knows of bargains round town please communicate them over. Please add, subtract, replace, to the current list. Basically, like I asked Brian if you had $3500 would this all be somewhere along the lines of good choices? I dont want to spend big cash on a kit, when I see people like Orion making more horsepower ( or potentially more )with a lot less money invested. I do have a high mileage KA 150k. I'm gonna check compression and do a leakdown test, if it checks out I'll be using this block. I know in order to make big power I need pistons rods etc.. This list is to run low psi (7 - 10) for now, I just want to be ABLE to upgrade in the future. If the current engine does not check out I'll pick up a KA from somewhere. Please note the price of a KA is not included with the $3500. Thanks for all the help guys, I dont post much but I have read a whole lot on NICO and FA for about a year now, but I still want advice from the big boys.

OK, on the JWT computer, there is a 6+ week wait on them right now and you need to buy a donor computer $200~ to send to them. Going to need a z32 MAFS or cobra mafs $100-250 in order for your intercooler to mount up correctly, your going to have to move your battery to the back so $50 for a battery relocation kit. Also going to need a bov $100-200 and a wastegate $150-450, as well as figure about $150-250 for your downpipe. Going to need a boost gauge $50 and EGT gauge $100. Be sure to figure $200 for miscelaneous things as well. And for $400 for injectors you could get 4 72lb'ers. Oh, and youll need a fuel rail $150 and injector clips to go from side feed to top feed and resistors if they are low impedance so about $35 for those.

I dont mean to burst your bubble, but I just went through all this and I blew my budget on its ***, so, be prepared.

Thanks for the awesome reply man, yea I kinda only had the major things up there. As for the blowing the budget thing, do you feel it was worth it? Any regrets? :)

Icky prebuilt turbo kits.Sorry, I just dont like an out of the box turbo kit, take half the fun away.

I dont know if it is worth it yet, In my sig it says I need a fuel rail, which is on the way, so all I need to do is wait for that to show up and **** is going to get torn apart and surgery will begin. Look for pics up soon!

By the way, I think when im doing 12's and driving home, it will be worth it :)

How is that? 90% of the fun is in driving it. The other 10% is divided up more in the frustration in keeping nuts and bolts from rattlling loose(though I think I finally found a good solution) and some joy in the fact that I will try to tune the E-manage on mine soon...

OK, maybe fun was the wrong word, how about educating? Ive learned a huge amount about forced induction in the past year since I started my buildup, which I guess, is a different kind of fun...when you can go to the rich-boy at the track with mommy and daddys money and make him feel like an *** because he doesnt know anything about the 20k turbo honda he owns :)

There are some things you can still do alot cheaper. For the jwt ecu, I would by one off of somebody on the boards or a local junkyard for cheap, I got mine for 50 bucks. You can also send your ecu off to jgycustoms.com. There is where I sent mine and it was 100 bucks cheaper. I would also suggest going with the 50 lb injectors because you will want to go up in boost after a week or two.
