Hi. I own a 1993 Q45. Body 150.000 Miles, Motor Has 75.000 Miles. My Brother inlaw Just Gave me this Car, I always loved her! My Problem is, When I start her she shakes, and when I step on the gas, she moves slow until I nail the pedal down, then she goes. But I still think she should have much more power then she has! I took her to a shop, ( I will never take anything to this guy ever again), But he changed the intake gaskets and valve cover gaskets, he says he changed the coils and vac hoses. After that I added new plugs and wires, BUT still she's the same. Today I cleaned her MAF sensor. She still shakes (Like Idles Rough) And she has no power! Can someone please help me??

Maybe somehow you have a 2nd gear start TCU... Try moving the shifter into 1st and see if that helps the power...

The shaking is likely due to some bad injectors..... Look on Q45.org for more infomraiton

there is a Q45 specialty repair shop somewhere in NJ that is suppose to be really good. It would probably save you lots of time trouble shooting the problem to take it too him...then again that means more $$$$. I am sure somebody on here will post the mechanics info for ya shortly or do a search such as NJ mechanic or something like that.

Pretty much all the OEM stuff is as good as it gets. For plugs, the OEM Platinum NGK plugs are the best, get 'em here: http://www.q45.org/shop.html . Wires, injectors, and air intake all the same - OEM is quality.

Best to take it to a tech who knows what he's doing. You don't want to play guessing game. Wes was right about shaking most likely coming from injectors. If this problem has been going on for a while the injectors may have damaged oxygen sensors and cat converters.

Here's one of several threads that discuss injectors and the process to ohm them.

Have Keith Vanmeter do a power balance test.

Post your results and a brief maintenance history in Infiniti Mechanic Forum.

Inquiring minds want to know- Which injectors are bad? What are the readings?
