my stock radio system was this:

but I want something like this, that will fit just right

The only thing that I really need is the USB and CD. I do not really want any dvd or bluetooth just something simple and not too heavy with a nice screen. Maybe a gps would be nice, but it would be too expensive.

I do not know much about car radios or stuff, so I do not even know what to search for on google. Any help will be appreciated

I don't have any specific suggestions, but Crutchfield is a great place to start looking. Since you've got the Bose system you will need a line output converter to retain the Bose speakers, but Crutchfield will take this into account when asking you your vehicle details.

I've got a Clarion VX400 ( the newer updated one is the VX401)

I got it off ebay for something like $265 a while ago.

Theres a guy on this forum who has a really OEM-looking unit. I forget who he is and what the radio is though....

Clarion looks nice. Could you post a picture to see how it looks in the car?

* Oh yeah, this was a pic I took of it right after I had installed it, so ignore the random wires hanging out the side.

fits very nicely!
I searched for other clarions and I found that I really loved the NX501, so I think I will go with the NX501 whenever I get the money. Thanks for the help Chris!

I love my AVH-P3200BT by Pioneer. It has gps, bluetooth and backup cam though, so its a little pricey. But you can get the AVH-P3200DVD which doesn't include those options. I sprung for the steering wheel mounted control adapter to keep it oem feeling.

The price is more or less the same for the Clarion NX501, about $550 and both have about the same features. Both look good. I do not think I will be buying the radio soon, but it is definetely on my watch list, just need the $

Ok if your going for best bang for the buck... this is your unit.

I got that for my dads 06 sonata about 2.5 months ago. Instant boot time after your start the car, runs very fast, another great feature is multicolor LED's so you can match it up to the factory interior lights perfectly. Plays well, and does everything it should. Has a usb port up front to play off a flash drive etc.

Heres a pic of it installed.

What features do you want? You also have to consider sound quality.

Alot of brands use inferior internal op amps that degrade the quality of sound.

I want a double din with touchscreen that has usb, aux, ipod, cd, AM/FM tuner and maybe GPS (if the price is not too high). What do you think of the Clarion NX501?

Towncivilian, regarding the line converter if have Bose system: I thought all that was needed as a Metra wire/plug adapter and thats it. Can you tell me more?

Also, anyone know the adapter part number needed to retain steering controls?

You'll need something like this along with a wiring harness to retain the Bose speakers.

I've always stuck with pioneer for any head units. The quality has always been there and they perform for many years without issues. I have no experience with Clarion head units but have used their pro audio amps and they are excellent.
