There's a mystery part that infiniti can't seem to find. I need some pictures of the trunk "spacer" or the foam block underneath the carpet (not the floor mat, factory carpet..) in the trunk.

I hope someone has a g35 with the large one piece tool holder/foam thing in the trunk. Most of the g35's have a 3 piece insert, this one has one large center one with depressions/molds for the tire iron, center cap tool, and I think the jack too.

If you could snap some pictures and or get any type of numbers/letters on the part. The parts guys said they will make phone calls to see if they can still get it.

Thanks

I think I have this large one-piece foam insert...

but I can't get a good picture without taking out my subs and I don't want to spend the extra time just for one picture

This is for the first gen G35 sedan, sorry

The dealership has the accessory mats (help desk thought those would have the foam part) and the trunk "spacers". None have the tool molds.

They showed me all the illustrations for the trunk, none of them look anything like what I had.

Your best bet is Riverside infiniti website.

You can check it even view illustration if you click on it. They are one of the cheapest one for oem parts. Also you can call them if you can't find the part #.

fail, all the illustrations do not show it. They have some of the trunk "boards" instock, but they are not correct.

I'm pretty sure when you go to infinitiparts.com, the part you're looking for is under Rear body and floor/Interior trim/Jack cover. It doesn't look like the part, but that's the only thing it could be from what I can tell. It looks the same in the illustration for my 06 coupe (I cross checked it with an 03 sedan). The part in the illustration may be at an angle.

It's not on the side, the jack/tools are underneath the trunk carpet. They have molded holes in the foam "spacer" underneath the carpet.

I've seen the G's with the tools in the sides, this one has tools underneath the carpet.

Umm, yeah...they all do. The tools are on the side (the passenger's side) underneath the carpet in a plastic mold that holds them there.

But it's huge, it's like 24x24, I've seen some of the small ones (like 12x12 or 12" round). It's the size of the spare tire cardboard/cover. *(camera) time :D
