I have looked at these two for a while. I know the Koni shocks are mono tube and excellent but they are the same price almost as the tein basic coilovers. with the teins I get adjustable ride height and a true coilover, not a sleeve type but they are double tube.

will I notice that big a difference on my hard driven, sometimes tracked G35 Sedan?

My front shocks are going soon (next 10,000 miles), and it will be over 400.00 for OEM parts (I would replace front and rear at the same time) whereas the Konis and the Teins both run around 700-800 dollars.

I have the sport suspension already so my spring rates are pretty good to begin with.

Labor is not a concern, I do it all myself

Koni + silver paint + nismo sticker = nismo shocks. Koni also = lifetime warranty against anything. If you buy them, they're always worth money because of that warranty. So if you feel that the Koni's don't live up to expectations or what you're looking for, you can sell it for a minimal loss.

Tein = good for starters, but aren't that great compared to other stuff like Cusco or JIC.
