So I'm getting really tired of my insanely ride, and embarassing ride height. So once I can afford to, I plan to drop the car via coilovers or springs/shocks. But that is neither here nor there.

To upgrade the wheels, I have decided on 17x8 FN01R-C for the front and the same wheel but 17x9 in the rear. Maybe I should do all 17x9?

My "dilema" so to speak, is that I know nothing when it comes to tire sizes, so I am trying to figure out what the best size tire would be for each set(i.e. what will work best on the 17x8 front and what works best on the 17x9 rear)

Any indeas are greatly appreciate.

Tire recommendations are welcomed as well.

Thanks

depends on a LOT of other factors

how low...stretch, square or fat sidewall, offsets...etc etc

Go with 17x9 +20 all the way around. You wont like the fitment of the 17x8 +35 in the front.

As far as tire size, 225/45/17 would probably be the best. You could run a 235/45/17, but they cost more and dont allow you too many choices in tires.

17x9 +20 with 235/45/17 and a fender roll.

225 isnt enough for a 17x9 if you go that route though

plenty of good tires come in 235/40 and 235/45, it just depends on the exact tire you want and/or your preference for sidewall height

I'm getting 17x9+20 all around, and plan on 235/40s all around.

235/45 is taller than stock diameter, which sucks.

I'm getting hankook rs-2, which is pretty much the best tire you can get for the street for the price, from what I have seen. I would get the 235/40 front, and 245/40 rear, but 245 is not offered.

im gonna have 17x9 +20 all around

I was told to go 235/40/17 front and 255/40/17 rear...and they fit with no fender rolling or pulling

right now i have stock suspension, but plan to drop it with ksport sprigns or coilovers very soon

Fkrst off, plenty people run 225/45 on a 9 inch wheel. Hell, there are even people stretching 215's.

As far as the 235/255 stagger, dont do it. There is no need for a wider tire in the rear. Also, you can rotate your tires and save some tread life.

You probably want to run a 45 series tire instead of your mentioned 40. Your kidney will thank you later.

So lets say youve ruled it down to 17x9 +20 with a 235/45. You are still going to need a roll and possibly a -slight- pull, but a fender roller flares them out somewhat anyways.

No way in hell, unless you want to run like -5 degrees camber.

255 will definately require a good bit of pull.

225 is too much of a stretch, unless you're into that sort of driftastic/ poser/hard parker thing. 245 would be an ideal fit, the problem is there's not many tires in that width that fit. if you can't find a 245 to your liking, depending on what you wnat, 235/255or 235 all around would work.

The 235/255 stagger would be retarded on wheels of the same size.

And stretching tires isnt posing, its making wheel fitment easier on your fenders.

I didn't make it clear 235/255 would be a staggered... ideally just do 17x9 all around and find a 245 or 235.. I believe the hankook rs2s actually run wide, so 235 won't be pretty decent.

Yeah, staggering tire sizes on the same size wheels all around is retarded. I'm running 17x9 +22 all around with 235/45's w/ KTS coilovers, needs a roll but not a pull.

I'm running 255/40 on my 'vert with 17x9 +20.

Rolled, but no pulling, and -1 degree.

FWIW, I didn't know he wasn't running staggered rims - My bad on the staggered tire fitment recommendation.

as far as choosing between the 40 and 45 series aspect ratio, theyre both within acceptable limits, the 40 has about the same sidewall as a 215/45, the 45 has about the same as a 255/40, its really the middle ground tire width, you could go either way on this car

235/40 will clear better if you want to go lower, 235/45 will have a tad higher peak grip

the other thing to consider is which tire youd like to run, pretty much every tire comes in one of the two, but not many come in both

for example, i would probably prefer a 235/45, but because the tires i want, falken rt615s, come only in 235/40, ill be going with those...these tires are better than kuhmo MX and hankook rs2, theyre the same price as the MX and only slightly more than the rs2, so its worth it, because you have to raise your budget another $200 until you get to tires that are as good as or better than the 615s

in other words, although kuhmo come in 235/45, the advantages of running 615s over MX outweigh the advantage of the larger sidewall

sorry if that was a little long-winded, lmk if i need to clear anything up
