i have a 74 datsun b210 with a full ca18det swap. it has an fmic, nismo fpr, three inch exhaust, ram air. other than than its stock.

i had the turbo rebuilt at the g pop shop about a year ago. it runs great other that the fact it smokes all the time now. a few nights ago, i went out racing and the next day i started the engine and the smoke started coming. prior to this night i started noticing that it would smoke every once and a while then it would go away.

i want to buy a new turbo now. im not looking for something really big and insane. i want a mild upgrade. im shooting for 300 to 350 max power. i was thinking about a garret dual ball bearing turbo, gt2860r or gt2871r, or what do you guys think? i want it to be a bolt in deal if possible, but if not then that's ok. my current t25 has a himni racing t25 to three inch v band adapter, i want to make sure that the turbo i get that this bolts to it. what ar turbine housing should i get? .64? the places that sell these turbos have a selection of ar housings, what do you guys recommend?

i need some guidence.

S15 T28 Spec R turbo should bolt right into what you have now with some minor clocking of the compressor housing and center section. You'll also need an oil restrictor. Fitting an S15 T28 has been cover lots of times. Do some searching, but this turbo will meet your needs and is very responsive. I loved it and it was one of my favorite turbo's.

The answer to this question is always a GT35R.

Yeah but the thing about a gt35r is that it is actually usable. It will make 471whp just the same as that gt47, and you dont have to rev to 9500rpm. Baller turbo for sure. I will agree though that if your chain does in fact hang low, you ought to gt47 it up. Just ask our "project: Baller" friend over in Kangaroo land.
