what's your budget? There are tons of things that can be done but they all require varying amounts of money and or skill.

I did read it right ?E pistons in a DE in a 90 ? I then assume you have grabbed the right harnesses and ECU.

right off the bat, I would set up the Intake/header/exhaust before going into more elaborate motor mods. I would concentrate on getting that CR to work right on pump gas. Next would be a set of Cams.

Hope this gives you some ideas.

all the basic mods to start with... I/H/EPulleys, electric fans...

while you've got the motor apart, I would have the head worked if you can afford it as it will do wonders for your gains in the long run.

When I had my last engine rebuilt, I had it all balanced and blueprinted... the Heads were port matched on the intake side and cleaned up with some nice bowl work...

Now its in for a more radical cam and and am having the exhaust valve increased. with more blending and exhaust port work.

It's only money, but if you want to save money in the long run, do everything you can afford/think of while its apart.

With all that extra air going thru the engine it seems like a fuel system upgrade and possibly a ignition system of some sort to spark all that extra air/fuel would be somewhere on the list of to-do's. Engines are basically air pumps. The more air (which means more fuel) you can move thru it, the more power, theoretically of course. Simple concept I know, but look for "bottlenecks" in the system. There will always be at least one but that is where the power is.

I think you *may* be pouring money down a hole in increase exhaust valve diameter, i considered this but the cost to gain ratio was pathetic. Too much cash for a tiny gain.
