it has been brought to my attention that i might be running lean. but how do u run lean when ur well under boost(20-30vac). i mean i can't even drive down the highway. it gradually overheats until i stop. on the streets it doesn't really heat up too much. i'm hoping that it's as simple as lack of airflow(due to the recently added intercooler), heat build up from the turbo, and ridiculous miami weather. meaning that i need an aluminum radi. i already have altima duals, and before the turbo install i had no overheating problems at all. what do y'all think. i need to figure this out fast. because this heat isn't going away any time soon. HELP! thanks in advance.

Take out your thermostat and see if it overheats. If not then you got a bad thermo. I replaced mine 2 different times and got tired of the cheap thermostats and end up buying a Nismo. Since you live in Miami I would try just driving without one and see how it works for you.

Will still overhat but will take some time, get a restrictor instead. I live in Puerto Rico and temps are way higher than Miami. Also, be sure to bleed the air completly.

[QUOTE=hek1620 before the turbo install i had no overheating problems at all. [/QUOTE]

Did you do anything to thre timing? Measure the resistance of the temp sensor to rule out gauge malfunction. Get rid of the IC temporarily, if you can, to rule that out.

Seems to me if all you did was add a t/c and intercooler and it runs hot now just cruising, w/o doing anything else, your IC's a brick.

If you are still overheating either your radiator is clogged or you have a blown head gasket between water jacket and cylinder.

Check timming and fuel pressure, but before check water and air circulation is ok.also your rad cap could be faulty. To be sure, remove the rad, clean it, run water thru the engine (engine cool) to check for water blockage, open the heater (slide temp to HOT) check if the water pump is ok.If all this is ok, check for fuel and timing problems

all of this is okay. timing is at 15. that's stock for the sohc. fuel is fine, plus i'm using a walbro and z32 filter. i'm thinking it's just the radi, but i'm no tech. could i use something to route air to the radi from the front of the bumper. like the tubing people use on race cars? it looks like the crap used on clothes dryers.
