I replaced a fuel injector today after having many problems and narrowing it down to that. I put it in, replace the retaining bracket, plug in the harness and go to start it up. Turn the key, starter activates but engine doesn't turn over. Lights are bright, dim like usual when I turn it over, nothing out of the ordinary. I go to turn it over again, and everything goes black. I have no power to anything, no lights in the dash, starter won't turn, nada. Problem is I need the car by tomorrow, any idea what the heck is going on?

Update. Jumped it, still no dice. Lights came back on, dash, interior, everything. No cranking though. Would my starter have just died for some reason? I haven't had any problems starting the car, usually fires right up. Even when I was having the problem with a cylinder missing, it still started right up. Anything else that would cause it not to crank like this?

If you have loose or corroded battery terminals, it could be preventing adequate cranking amps from getting to your starter. I'd check there first.
If that doesn't work, you can try hitting your starter with something. That usually jostles the solenoid and gets the starter to kick.

Woke up this morning, went out to the car to see if anything was different. Opened the door, lights come on. Turn the key, everything goes black and stays that way again. What the hell?

it sounds like loose battery terminals or a major ground is loose...

Cleaned the battery terminals and checked all connections. She turns over now and all lights are on, however now she won't fire. Checked connections to plugs/wires/injectors, replaced distributor cap and rotor because the rotor was corroded to all hell. Starter sounds strong, I think my issue was just loose/dirty terminals as far as that goes.

Whoa, even worse issues now. I turned over the engine, then went to pull the first plug to make sure gas was hitting the cylinder, and the spark plug looks like it is INSIDE the cylinder. The first two are like that, the socket can't even get a grip on them. What the HELL? I asked a friends relative, and he said if the plugs have fallen into the cylinder, the car is pretty much junk now. Is that true?

Not enough details.... Its difficult to get a plug to fall into the cylinder... they pretty much have to break.

IF they have fallen in (like, you can poke a screw driver all the way down to the piston), then yeah, you'll have to remove the head and look to see if there is any damage.

It looks like the pistons are holding the spark plugs up to where they are barely inside their holes still, I could put a screwdriver down through next to them and hit the piston easily. Don't have anything long enough to pull them out though, sounds like it's pretty much DoA though. Thanks for your help though, I appreciate it.

Get a magnet on a stick, they are like 99 cents. If your spark plugs truly were not in the cylinder head anymore, your car would sound weird as hell when trying to crank it (it wouldn't have any compression in that cylinder due to there being a large freakin hole in the head haha).
