I bought a 2008 Nissan Frontier Nismo 4x2 Crew Cab from a dealer last week. I have questions & am getting conflicting information on rims can someone help please?
The previous owner put HELO HE866 24X10" CHROME/BLK ACCENTS + CARBON SERIES CS 86 275/30ZR24 TIRES on it and they look like clown shoes to me so I have been looking for replacement rims in the original 16" diameter. The rims i find/like seem to all come in the 6X5.5 bolt pattern (think Pacer 164P LT Mod Polished or Mickey Thompson Classic III), I am trying for an old school "5 holes" bullet hole or as close as I can get to the 5 hole bullets with a deep dish polished rim look or black & polish/chrome/machined. I was told I would need adapters from 6X4.5 to a 6X5.5 for the rims that I like to fit, does anyone know which adapter works safely and what is the thinnest an adapter can be on this truck and still not have to modify the original lugs?
After hearing some people saying there may be issues with the 16X10 rim sticking WAY out with the offset of the brakes on these trucks I went and took a look at my truck after eyeballing the brakes & the offset with the current 24" rims on my truck I definitely DO/WOULD NOT want them to stick out like a 16X10 with a negative offset (deep dish) would, I am still at least wanting the LOOK of the old school 5 hole bullet hole deep dish rims (of course the ones I remember/had were on an 82 Chevy Scottsdale that I had worked hard to fix up in the 90"s and were 15x10).
So does anyone have any ideas on any 16x8-16X9 in a deep dish look would work also & please if you can possibly post pictures of yours or a truck with them on it please.
This truck is black and the polished/chrome really pops on it but I am not sure about keeping them clean looking though. I bad back & am not in the best health, I cleaned these clown shoes today & they still don't look as nice as they can/should or as the dealer had them so I know I can't/didn't polish them as good as they needed to be. With that said it is making me consider something that is easier for me to keep clean & looking good. What do you suggest, what is the best finish for someone with a bad body/back to keep clean/good looking? I had thought maybe about the black & chrome/machined/polished rims similar to the Ultra Motorsports 193/194 Drifter GLOSS BLACK W DIAMOND CUT ACCENTS, MOTO METAL MO951 GLOSS BLACK MACHINED but in a 16" if I can find any. If I go that way I think I still prefer one with a little more chrome/polish than black not so much chrome/polish as these HELO clown shoes have that are currently on it but about 50/50 or 75/25 at the most if so. What rims can you suggest that look deep dish & work for my truck? I am thinking low profile performance tires instead of "truck" tires with an aggressive tread like these cs86 have. I like the stance/width/look of the setup now just not so HUGE. I am thinking a good looking deep dish style 16X8 or 16X9 rim and a 275-60-16 ish tire, like maybe a Kumho, Toyo, or something similar etc? Please give me some input I am at my wits end and really getting tired of being "profiled" as a side walk pharmacist due to my BBT+BBR (Big Black Truck + Big Bad Rims) thanks.
