HELP! leaking radiator fluid

so my 1990 240sx fastback started to leak fluid like crazy today.... its not coming from the radiator but seems to be coming somewhere from under the manifold area. what do i need to do to fix it?

any ideas asap thnx

Check your radiator hoses first. You have a upper and a lower radiator hose. If it's spewing out then you probably have a crack or a tear in one. It may have just come loose and just needs tightening.

check your radiator hoses and heater hoses.

Those are the only things in that area that could be leaking.

cant seem to see it or even get my hand in there but ill keep trying

any more things that could be it? its leaking on my transmission so somewhere around that area if that helps

yes, unless you don't mind your motor overheating. any cracks on your radiator? my oem ka radiator frekkin cracked one day when i was pushing it hard...

Are you sure that it was radiator fluid that you saw?

is it just pooring out or spraying everywhere if its spraying everywhere then it could be your water pump,bottle neck where your thermostat is located (i had it happen to me )

I had that happen to me too.

It could just be your water pump. When's the last time you changed it? When it goes bad, coolant flows out the little hole on the pump. I heard you can temporarily plug it with a small screw until you get it fixed.

there are three hoses that run under the intake manifold that are a real pain in the as to get to. fill your radiator with water and run the engine and watch it to try to figure out where its coming from.

but if its the water pump it sprays everywhere and you really cant tell cause the pulleys , fan blow it around (i spent 3 hours trying to figure it out after useing stop leak stuff that cost 7.99 a quart )

um and the patch a radiator thing doesnt help cuz its not radiator thats ****d

member how i said the leak stopped... well today it did it again... but just a little came out this time (last time lots of **** came out)

last time it was spewing out crap and steam has coming out but this time it just leaked (no smoke)

o if this helps my radiator catch can is cracked....

that could be your problem if its to full it will do that don't fill it past minimum and see what happens

OK TODAY IT STARTED TO OVERHEAT... so i stopped it popped off the radiator cap and stem came out (is that ok) then turnd car on and poored water in it. heat went down..

no leak but the heat up was scary.. didnt want my baby to die

any thoughts about this?

your heater hoses need to be replaced. you said it your self that the leak is under the intake manifold. Honestly its not that difficult just cut away the old tubing and replace with new tubing.
