First post but not a forum newb so i did search first so don't if this was posted before.

I've looked up some of the common issues found with the s13s but would like some ntk info on what to look for other than "kicking the tires" when checking the car for the first time.

I guess we can base it off the first 240 i'm looking at it's a 92 hatch manual with power everything and that annoying manual sunroof.

Should i pretty much count on replacing all the seals?

Thanks from a new buyer.

Happy Holidays

haha

carfax would be ideal but things i always do when buying a used car is

1 look underneath for rust2 check inside of body panels for mismatching paint (like if its been wrecked and replaced)3 check the oil, creamy light brown = blown headgasket4 drive the car HARD not rediculous but run it threw the rpms and make sure there arnt any ticks or anything making odd noise ( minus the timing chain noise that 99% of 240s have)5 when your going about 40 put it in 4th and floor it, if the rpms climb and the speed doesnt the clutch is slipping and needs to be replaced6 check the title throughly

all i can think of right now

yeah and main thing is rust, look everywhere, in the engine bay on the strut towers. turn the wheel and look behind the front tires to look for rust where the brake line comes through the body. and while your in that area, look at the frame rail (yes i call them frame rails even though its a unibody) rust is very common right where it curves to go under the firewall and to the back of the car. If its a hatch, check the rear spoiler area for rust where it mounts.

for the engine, if it has one, make sure it runs smoothly and idles fine. no leaks, etc like on any other car.
