1991 Pathfinder SE,the other day i go to shut her off and the key will only turn to position 1!the little button i usually push in to fully remove the key is not fully extended and not responding. any help would be greatly appreciated,as i do not live in the best neighborhood!i have a second key,so i can lock the truck, and have camoflauged the key, hopefully that will keep it in the lot for a while! thanks in advance for your replies!Eric B

you need to remove the coloum covers and remove the clip holding the shift interlock cable in the back of the ignition switch. You veiw this clip from the passenger side of the coloum. The clip is black, it slides out fromt the bottom. once thats off pull the cable out of the ignition switch housing. This will get your key out but now you will be able to shift the automatic shift lever with out the key being on. The problem is the interlock controller under the dash. I believe the case is green in color.
