When you say you changed "everything" what does that mean????

If you havent already changed them here is a list to start.

Cap RotorWiresPlugsFuel filterGet a fuel additive to clean the injectorsOil changeTrans fluid changeDiff fluid change

If you have done all this, evaluate your driving...

Are you the kind of person that keeps their foot to the floor and shifts at redline? Or are you the type of person that drives conservatively, shifts at a low rpm, doesnt give excess throttle etc... Obviously if you are driving fast everywhere and shifting fast and flooring the car all the time, then you are going to get terrible gas mileage...

But actually, you are getting the proper mileage for the car, so, keep up the good gas mileage. Put a turbo on it, then you will see your mileage drop...

Well, change the fuel filter and you will be done tuning up. Although you are getting better than avg fuel economy according to the chart there so... Seems to be you are doing pretty good.

look for a vaccuum leaks after the MAF sensor, and throttle body. Fuel filter wouldn't affect mpg, it would affect the overall performance of the engine. i could be wrong, and if i am i'll admit to it. change it and see what happens.

well um... I dont even get that... though I drive like I stole it sometimes. My altima (automatic) which is heavier with the same engine gets way better gas mileage. And I've just come to expect that, didn't really buy this car for gas mileage though.

because most people drive like they are on the drag strip.

run seafoam through your intake system, check you tire psi and see if your air filter is clean

also if your about time for an oil change, put seafoam into the engine and run it for about 10 minutes then change the oil

btw i get 24/29 on my car, very light on the throttle and shfit at 2.5

I get 24 mixed and 32 on long highway trips. I don't drive just in town, but i do know that when I went to a drifting event 70 miles away and drifted while I was there and came back I still got 28. So I would be worried if I got 20.

It all depends on how hard you are on the gas and brake. Even if you shift at 3k but your hard on the gas, you going be using just as much gas if you went to 6k but were smooth on the gas.

Is it that "marble in a tin can" sound?Might be your timing chain guides.Or the heat shield on your exhaust manifold.

I was getting 19mpg in the city, 32/33 mpg on the highway with conservative driving. I've since changed my O2 sensor, knock sensor, and put on a cold air intake and my first tank of gas got me 24mpg. And thats with me driving VERY agressively in town (spinning my tires, redlining it, hard shifts, heacy accel, hard braking).

Maybe its time for new sensors.

I average 17-19mpg, driving like I'm on a dragstrip. I've been meaning to see how it does when I baby it, but I can't keep my foot off the floorboard.

BTW, it's a 93 hatch ka24de. New plugs/wire/fuel filter, air filter, etc...

i drove mine like a grandma and still only got 20-22mpg average with maybe 40-50% highway. i live in nyc so i know there's a lot of stop and go and city driving but the ka just sucks at fuel economy.

with that said, i don't believe anyone that says they get like 28 mpg city and 36 on highway. my corolla gets that, not a 240. i hate how my car got same mpg as my dad's TL but 2x slower.
