Today while driving, car still boosts fine but stutters at initial throttle after shifting gears. Almost like it's choking...but if I shift and go full throttle, car's fine.

Stopped at a gas statio and checked codes and pulled code 12....MAF. I'm wondering if MAF placement can cause MAF to break?

MAF is physically about 12" from turbo but the piping is actually about 20" (the pipes bend a couple times before it gets to the turbo). Could this have caused a bad MAF or was it just it's time?

I suppose I should check the voltage tomorrow as outlined in the FSM first before blaming this problem on the MAF but from the problem I'm seeing and the code pulled, it seems like my MAF is starting to choke.

What do you guys think?

So today I go through the SFM and troubleshoot error 12 and also the MAF and it all checks out fine. Turns out the chocking was coming from my HKS AFR's EIDS function (suppose to help prevent stalling from atmospheric BOVs). Funny thing is once i turned off the EIDS function, car drives fine again and oddly enough, the car still acts as if the EIDS function is on and I don't have any problem even though the BOV is vented.

VERY WIERD....

I called HKS and they were just as puzzled. They laughed and said 'well if it works, why bother?'. hahaha, oh well. So for now, I have the EIDS function turned off but the car acts as if it has EIDS on. I have my vented BOV and no stalls or choking at all.

VERY ODD but oh well...as long as the car keeps driving smoothly I have no complaints neither.
