Hey ive read on here bout a guy that had a rb25det and having problems with oil spraying every where andive got a simlar case but not as bad here is what my problem is ive got a RB30det with a gt35 turbo, frount mount ,top mount turbo, 3inch exshust, chipped ecu running 14psi and when car is cold or warm theres no fumes or oil coming out of oil catch can breather holes but soon as its warmed up and i take it out for a drive with out thrashing it she starts to fume and its a condensation rather than a oil smoke fume which could be blown head gaskit but it doesnt use any water and it aint getting hot and its not pressuring the radator? And when i do tharsh it hard im getting oil coming out of breather on catch can for the breather on can is a series of 6 holes bout 8mm big so was wondering if this was pressising because of not big enough holes in can etc or because rings a gone or because ive got a blown head gaskit etc can some one help with this thanks :)

The fact it's not happening when it's cold(When your clearances are higher and you're more likely to see issues) Says that it's probably just blow by.

Just to clarify, there is a breather on the catch can plus six 8mm holes in the can? Take a picture of your PCV setup or tell us which number represents your setup from this thread:

compression test it, chipped ecu sounds scary.. was it dyno tuned or street tuned by someone that knows whats going on?

This has happened to me twice. Both times it was something with the piston rings. Compression test and your wallet

The reason it doesn't happen cold is because the oil is thicker and won't sprayvaround till it gets hot... I'm beting the pistons ring land are broke... xcompression test needs to be done..

Yea, this happened to me. If you are getting oil in your catch can, you have a ring problem. I suggest not driving it until you can tear it apart. If the side of the piston blows out, or more material comes free, you could damage the block beyond repair. I bet your tune has too much timing in it.

yer i think myself now its broken rings i compresson tested it and 2,3 are down 95psi cold and the rest are 120-130 cold and the timing was out as it was dettanating hard when i got the car so i retard the cam angle sensor as far as it goes which stopped the dettanating the guy that i got the car off said it use to run a link and now its got a chipped ecu so id say the rings have had it and time to rip it apart thanks for the help and advise will update when ive pulled it down

Just to clarify, the "rings" aren't likely broken, its the "ring lands" on the pistons themselfs that are likely the culprit.
