Hello all--new member, 03 white M45 owner, and I need some help. Has anyone had their wheels successfully refinished with the look of the original metallic finish?

I didn't think this was a problem having spoken to the wheel company beforehand, until I saw what they did to my wheels. They now look like my wife's plastic Corolla wheel covers, and not the original satin metal look. This process is going through the tire shop that scratched them as a middle man, but so far they are being good about it. I'm paying for the other two wheels so they did all four.

It's the wheel service that I'm questioning. But having spoken to the dealer they are actually the same company that does all their work, so now I don't know what to think--hoping to get a better idea of what should be expected before I take it up with them directly.

Dealer told me there's no paint code for the wheel, and they just refer to them as "hypersilver", which is what the tire shop told them to do.

I'm going out to the wheel company in person with my spare as soon as tomorrow, but I was hoping someone might have experience with this they might like to share? I need some hope!!!! I feel like my wheels are now totally ruined , it's costing me $, and I wish I'd just kept them with the scratches.

Welcome to the forum under poor circumstances.

I'd definitely go there with a wheel that you want to use an example and tell them to either match it or give you your money back.

They need to put down a primary coat of black before putting on the silver.

And honestly unless you have it done by a high end shop it wont match. Allot of the dark silver factory painted wheels used a paint which is now banned (had the same issue with Viggen wheels).
