Okay guys,
Just installed my k&n typhoon intake yesterday on my 08 2.5 CVT. I love the sound and was super excited. . While driving my car today it just put itself into neutral without me doing anything !! Anyone have this problem? I'm really worried. Possibly not intake related, and a huge coincidence? Idk /: help!

Wow what on earth. Hopefully somebody can explain how there might be tension or something on the shift mechanism.

woah thats not right man take it to the dealership. tell them it started doing it but dont mention anything about how it happened after the intake. tell them youve had the intake for a long time. if you give them a reason to believe its the intake they'll charge you based on faulty JDM products not OEM

I would put it back to stock then drive it for a few days and if the same situation happens get it checked out, if not then the problem is with the K&N but i have never heard of this problem before

The intake shouldn't be the problem. Sounds more like a transmission issue put the stock intake on and take it straight to the dealership if your still under warranty.

That is the strangest thing I've ever heard. I can't think of any way the intake would be involved in that. Unless the gear shift is electronically controlled and the intake may be resting on a wire and causing it to short? I'd check that just because that would be the most logical thing I could think of.

Sorry guys been busy and haven't gotten a chance to answer. So basically it's only happened one other time after I posted this. I honestly still can't figure out why this would happen. I did some research and supposedly some other nissans and infinitis it happened to as well. Still trying to figure it out. But it's only happened once since and it was just so random!!! :wtf2:
