just wondering if this is probably a forecoming transmission problem or just maybe the tcar is out of transmission fliud? its grinds but doestn seem to affect performance, yet its leaking fliud(not sure if its oil or transmission fluid(seeing how i dont know what transmission fliud looks like yet,) going to check the dipstick on the transmission once i can find it (daylight)

but right now what does that sound like? it makes a huge grinding noise in low gears(first/reverse) and shows up again when im running maybe 2k rpm in 4th. thanks!!!!!!

sorry for typos.

OMGGGGGGgg ...ok i went took it to autozone drained it and refilled through the shifting boot hole......... then started it up.. and the transmission was like frozen, tried to mess with it, warm it up etc. nothingso i put it in first and start trying to make it home, make it to third REALLY rougb and im like noticing that there is no response from the clutch. from then on NO response from the clutch at all and it was making this like rattling noise on the way home( i just rode it in 5th barely.........

so whats going on? it was just grinding alone before i changed the fluid but after it got soo much worse and this new clutch problem? the guy who i got it from (rick as you all probably know) replaced it with a stage 4 clutchmaster puck clutch so......

wtf is going on !? and whta am ilooking at? did the transmission lock or the clutch get stripped bare or what? thxn ....cant believe this...

i can move the gears when the car is off but with out the clutch response i cant. thanks!

found out the fluid may have been overflown from the transmission. the fork moves in and out so it seems operational. the master is still filled with fluid, and was replaced recently, i checked the shifter boot, slave doesnt seem to have a problem, as said before, the master cylinder was replaced about 3 months ago. not sure whats going on?! ANYONE HAVE ANY IDEA?! thanks

First off year and model of car? From your 2nd post I'm guessing a 240sx right? At first i though maybe air in the clutch system, but you found a puddle of oil. Therefore you need to isolate where its leaking first.

Even if the master is filled up with oil there could be air in the system. How is the shifting? Rough?

sounds like the problem i was having. turned out to be a bad slave cylinder @ 25k.

It didnt seem to be leaking initially so I thought I had transmission problems. I got a cheap oem replacement for $20. need to invest in a quality replacement before it fails too.

It's easy to change all you need is a flare nut wrench and a friend to help you bleed it. also need a crescent wrench to transfer the hose and pliers for the clip. just be careful not to strip the flare nut or get any brake fluid in your eye. it'll jet out all over the place if theres any pressure and It melts paint.

if the dampner gives you any trouble you can remove and bypass it. you have to gently bend the line by hand without kinking it. very time consuming.

good luck
