Before you start getting upset the reason im making this thread is im in the middle of an ebay transaction and this guy has tried to screw me over. I know a auto crossmember doesnt work on at manual car but he is insisting he sold me a manual crossmember that was on his original 89 s13 hatch. It has an A on the back of it and i have tried to explain to him that it would be phisicaly impossible for that crossmember to be hooked up to the transmission mount and the chassie with all bolts lining up. His ebay name is name is stumpykola2 just to let anyone know so you dont get into this crap with him. I have built many 240's around my town including 4 of my own and I have 3 auto crossmembers chillin around that have the same letter on them. What was the letter on the back for a manual car I want to say E but I dont remember.

ok how would the crossmember bolt up the thing is backwards compared to a manual one. Even still this guy is saying it was an ORIGINAL car nothing was touched. I know for sure you can use the auto crossmember but only 2 bolts can line up if you use muscle and the only other way you could do it is tear up your engine mount and let the transmission just chill on the crossmember.

I'd head to the junkyard or look for a part out, people pull KA's all the time and a lot of SR's come with crossmembers.

i have done it and i could only get 2 bolts in. you could always drill some holes in it and make it work.

The only reason I made this thread was to make sure i wasn't crazy cause this dumb kid tried selling me a auto crossmember saying it came factory off his 5 speed car that he swaped an sr20 in. I told him he could have it back and sell the car so he can buy a civic and be done with life. I hate when kits buy 240's cause everyone else has one.

wait the correct answer is YES, it will bolt up and work. I have had to do this more than one time.

specifics on the task: It is harder to bolt up compared to a manual. I have been able to put to all 4 bolts in everytime......The transmission will sit farther to the right than normal other than that, thats it.

doesnt matter what chassis it is..s13 s14...its all the same.

It depends on how worn out your transmissionn mount is. thats why everyone has a different answer. There is just no physical way you can move a transmission back 2 inches if even 1 inch even if you bolt up the worn out engine mount up to the auto crossmember it barely works. I would never recomend running a car hard like this. chances are your mount will rip and transmission will just be bouncing around probably cause driveshaft damage, exhaust damage, and transmission damage. then your out hundreds of dollars when it could have been avoided with just 30.00-50.00
