I have a jensen vm9311ts that i am trying to install, but when i do all the wiring, i get no power. its not the unit because i have tried another cd player. It says my red wire is to go to the ignition wire, which is red In the q45 right?, and yellow to the battery wire (I sent it to the yellow memory wire ) and the ground wire to the black ground wire in the harnest. now it will not work or power at all, but if i switch the red and yellow wires around, the cd player will make a beep noise and the power button will beep when you press it but that is it. no light, no powering on or anything. I have been at it for 2 days, any help is appreciated. Also i checked the fuse in the cr and cd player and none are blown.

:welcome: to NICO!

Where are you making these connections, and to what color wires are you splicing your red and yellow wires? I baked a CD changer in my Maxima once assuming that the red wire was positive in that car... it was exactly backwards... looked like a toaster oven with burning bread in it when I popped open the cartridge door :D

G50 require a specific Sony or Alpine player deck with a proprietary control box.

Call up Crutchfield and get a proper harness kit. Going with raw wires ain't ever gonna work.

All of the wires have small writing on them stating what they are for, including power, dim, power antenna and memory. The next best thing is to use a multimeter with the negative lead on some metal connected to the chassis. Check for ~12.4V through your memory wire with the car off and the same voltage through the ignition signal wire with car in the on position or started(14.4V).

The other likely problem is a bad ground which is one of the main problems people have with installing both these head units or amplifiers. The manufacturers recommend connecting the ground wire directly to the chassis, not any of the metal that supports the dash. This would include some of the bolts near the shifter, or there may be something closer.
