There is a good reason for that, it's not a terribly impressive car. What it is, however, is a nice point a-b vehicle. I'd say dont mess with it, especially if money is tight. You start tinkering with a car and it becomes less of a vehicle and more of a chore/problem child.thebig6-7 wrote:I recently purchased a 1996 nissan maxima and so far im not impressed with MY car in particular

1) Check out the maxima forum here on NICO to get started I know there are a lot of guys with the same year and have some nice stuff done.
2) we should meet and hang out sometime and get the nissan thing going again in the area. Me and a few of my other nissan friends who are too lame to hang on the forums would love to help with your car
Yeah well its a matter of opinion. I see you sank some money into an old celica, well i wanna sink some money into an old maxima...besides toyotas are tiny on the inside for my 6-7 frame as well as my two sons. out of all the cars i looked at before the maxima had the most room for my needs. However all "cars" are small to me...mind you the smallest veh i have ever owned prior to this was a four door ford F-250 4X4. So all of this is relatively new to me anyhow...but thanks for the friendly adviceflohtingPoint wrote:There is a good reason for that, it's not a terribly impressive car. Yea, my main point was more about the tight budget. If someone is a single father of two, in the Beltway (which is EXTREMELY expensive), trying to upgrade a car should be on the bottom rung of the "things to do" sheet.Encryptshun wrote:Do you intend to race your Maxima or do you want a reliable family car? That was flohtingpoint's...well...point. Your reply came off a bit snotty, which (if that was your intent) is unwarranted because his advice was solid.
God forbid someone actually build a car for a purpose, rather than throw money at a car just to drive to work or kmart.Dattebayo wrote:thebig6-7 wrote:but thanks for the friendly advice![]()
Don't listen to him. He's always got a bug up his butt about autocross and his amazing 20+ year old car...
