Hey was up? I just picked up a 93 fastback 240sx. The car has sat for at last 6 months before i purchased it. Runs strong but after a week or so i noticed a burning smell when sitting at lights or stop signs. I popped the hood and noticed oil around the valve cover and some leaking on to the exhaust mani. I checked the oil level and to see if there was any coolant in the oil but there wasn't, can you help me? And how would you proceed with repair?

Sorry for the book.

In the 240sx tech articles there is a write up on fixing the timing chain rattle. It will show you how to r+r the valve cover.Follow the procedure and remove the timing chain guides if it hasn't already been done.

It's probably just a 'remove valve cover and seal it back up' operation. RTV silicone ftw. Oh yeah, and timing chain guides can cause quite the headache if they go bad.
