Help: Illuminated Tiida kick plates install

How do you install the illuminated tiida kick plates? i think i have to drill into my car to run the wires and then connect them somewhere. im not sure where to connect them though, where would i connect them so when you open the door they light up? there were no set if instructions or anything. thanks in advance for anyones help and replys, very much appreciated.

check the fuse panel and see if the dome light is in there, wire off of that, and it will turn on and off with the dome.... good luck... post the finished pics...

No it wont. The dome light is a constant +12v. The only thing that turns the dome light on and off is the 4 ground switches on each of the doors. So if he connected it to the dome light fuse the kick plates would always be on.

I emailed the guy i bought them from, and he said run the wire from the door sill over the little ledge into the footwell and run the wire under my carpet. which means i would have an exposed wire... i dont like that. there has to be another way. i may just have to drill a small hole

Hey Guys,

Did some wire tracing today, and have worked out how to get LED's, Kick Plates etc to work off of the door switches.

If you take off the pillar cover on the front right side, there is three wires that run down this pillar. If you trace these back, they end up going to the plastic cover under the right sun visor, where they change wiring colors, and head over to the dome light.





What I did, was wire tap the yellow and light blue wires here and run them to LED strips in the footwell's, they work great, and even satisfy Law's here in Australia where you cant have anything like this on whilst driving, as they only work when a door is physically open, no manual override.
