Today on my adventure to the junk yard i found an Infinity with an ignition ring light still intact. So i get this idea to transplant it to my PF.I notice on the Infinity there are four wires two going to the ignition and two going to the ignition ring light. On my PF there are only two wires going to the ignition. After careful deliberation, prayer & no alcohol i decide I'm make this happen. In hope of not killing my rig I get the idea to splice more wire to the two wires making it into four wires in hope of mimicking the infinity setup.I get it all installed I turn the key, my rig starts up no problem but the ignition ring light does not illuminate. Now assuming i don't know what I'm doing (true story) and the light is in working condition... what did i do wrong or am missing???

Well if the ignition ring has a positve and a negative wire splice into a positive wire like ignition or something, and ground the negative wire to a peice of metal and a screw somewhere under the dash. Hope that helps!

Thank you, how do I tell which one is negative? Also is there a way to make it always on when the car is and off when the car is off?

I'd like the ring light to follow the dome light. When the door is open, it lights up so I can see where the key hole is at night time;when car starts the light goes out (key is in, no light is needed), and so on. My 2000 RX300 ring light follows the dome light and I believe most other car's are the same.

To me it's very difficult to connect the dome light wires to the ring light location. I don't know why QX4 does not have ring light but "lower end" cars like my 96 Maxima has that...

Ok heres what it looks like: My first attempt:What not to do:Here's what i came up with (w/help)My second attempt. So i tested both wires before i taped them up.I get 11.4 on the blue/black (accessory) wire and the black wire (ground) beeps so i should be all good.Still not working i think all i need is a new LED, unfortunately I have no idea where or which one to get.
