Help! I'm having idle problems on my 97 infiniti QX4.

I changed my PCV Valve and my car started idling very high over 3000 rpm's. I thought maybe I messed with the cable and tried to adjust it with no success. After multiple start ups, the idle is now a little lower, but jumping up and down over and over fast. Like between 300 to 500 rpm difference. I don't see what I could have done to make this happen. It must be related to my P1447 code error I have. Is there any quick fix I can do to get the idle speed down and level? Any advice is greatly appreciated.

Check for vacuum leaks by spraying some brake cleaner around vacuum hoses and listen for RPMs increasing. If/when they do, you found your vacuum leak. Also be sure you installed the PCV valve correctly.

Yes vacuum leak also throttle control termination strip may be damaged at the throttle inlet near TPS. Check your coolant sensor it will raise idle if reading wrong. Idle air motor and exhaust valve recirculation.

Your PCV valve when you had it out was it sucking? If left open will cause problems.
