Being that I bought this car used, I'm not sure about some of the parts on it, 91 hatch with sr20det.

Here are the pictures of these parts, most of them of the intake, but others that have been removed or changed or I just am not sure of their function. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Here are the main things, numbered 1-5. They are holes located in the stock intake tubing. I am not sure of their original purpose, maybe one is aiv, one is a sensor I don't know.

The worst part is that number 1 used to be plugged with a golf tee (how freaking ghetto...meh). Now there is nothing there, and of course I'm freaking out for my turbos sake.

#4 has a tube that goes into the intercooler piping right before the actual unit (fmic).

#5 was never plugged, and I really want to plug it (along with the rest), any ideas. What was it for?

These last two are of a breather and what looks to be a catch tank maybe. Is that a catch tank, and if so was it a stock item? Where did the tubes used to route to before it was cut for the breather?

catch tank?

All of these pictures are on the drivers side. The 'catch tank' is right up against the firewall near the hood.

If you could tell me what the item is called and then explain what is for that would be great!

Maybe one day I will be able to contribute by creating a parts list faq with pictures, until them I'm a helpless noob:(

#5 I dont know what it is but its before the MAF so the air entering through it is metered at least...plug it.

#1 This is an open hole for something and its AFTER the MAF which means the air being pulled in through it is NOT being metered which is bad. PLUG IT!

#4 The unit is the wastegate actuator. The line running to it is a vacuum signal so it knows how much boost there is and when to open the wastegate to regulate the boost level.

#2 Is the vacuum signal going to your blowoff valve. It looks like it is Teed though and I have no clue where the other end is going.

Thanks, that helps a lot.

#2 is just a plug, it doesn't go anywhere.

Is there an aftermarket intake to go from the turbo to the MAF?

Thanks for the reply!

#1 goes to the crank breather you've got now.#3 runs to your recirc#4 wastegate actuator#5 runs to the aiv that needs to be removed to install the sr into a LHD car#6 I think it's some resonator box. It's connected to your block's breather.

uhhh...no. #6 is the stock catch can. It leads out to the "T" on the valve cover, which you have a breather filter on. Normally that would recirculate to #1. Since it doesn't, just plug #1.

Also, #5 is before the MAF, so it's not letting in un-metered air. You may as well just plug it anyhow :)

I checked out their site, they don't make one.

Googlin it now, don't want to ghetto the hell out this already crappy plastic tube by stuffing the holes with something.

Get threaded brass plugs for plumbing about 1 size too big from a hardware store. paint the top black and just crank the thing into the rubber.

you sure you checked their website? they do have three kits for the sr; the turbo, induction, and coolant hose kits. Check out the pictures. Which black hose specifically you looking at? You were referring to the hose that connects to the back of the mafs and runs down to the turbo right? They've got that as part of the induction kit. Check out raretrick for that kit with free shipping and a bottle of redline water wetter lol

On the samco site it has theinduction hose kit for :

TCS54/IND Silvia RPS13 SR20DET

01/91~ RHD 1.8L (5) pic

http://www.samcosport.com/samco.asp?make=nissan

The raretrick describes it as 01/91>RHD , 5pc induction kit.

http://www.raretrick.com/index.asp?Cart=Yes

They also have an induction kit that comes with a filter, but seems to eliminate the MAF:http://www.raretrick.com/index...=6945

I'll just end up calling them when I'm ready to order, but if you know which is which that would be great.

And thank you for the threaded brass plug idea, I have been thinking all night of solutions and that is by far the best one! I am headed off to the store tomorrow early for that fix. Thanks!

dude that's a good point. Just noticed that on the samco spreadsheets. Well the one they've got for the 1.8L looks alot like the one for the SR but I'm not too certain if that's the right one specifically for the SR. I think the tip off might actually come from the other hoses included with the induction kit.
