I just whent to buy another RB26, but to my surprise the covers are black and the center , in an original plate, says in red letters

"2.6-24 Powered by NISMO"

I olmost **** my pants. Has anybody have an idea from what car this engine comes, or is it only a center cover???

I am sure it is just the center cover.

It's a rare race Spec engine only offered in every GTR ever made.

No really, it's probably just a cover.

well, surprise surprise, The turbos on this engine say "A/R 60 m24", my regular rb26 turbos say "A/R 42 m24" so these are N1 turbos, this means this is no ordinary Rb26. Anyone has some real knowledge or data on this engine?

could just be N1 turbos with a different valve cover. My 26 came w/ a pink valve cover (i suspect yashio factory painted- it is their signature color), upgraded turbos (not N1- they are .42 compressor, .64 turbine), and hks split dump pipes.

check the exh manifolds, surge tank, injectors and see if those are upgraded as well.

the only special block i know of is N1- but i'm not sure how to tell the difference.

haha, my description prolly sounded better than it turned out. one turbo had chipped compressor fins (ended up taking it apart and realizing it was dual BB and roasted). leakdown had a stuck ring in cyl 2 but it probably would have freed if i ran it.

i decided on a full bottom end rebuild to start new. here's a pic of it the first day i got it. r34 rb25 trans bolted up to it. you can see one of the dump tubes.

Well I'll try and go ever there this weekend to get some pictures of it. The guy has the engine sitting in a container for two years and it's covered in dust, but when I started to clean it with my hand, I can see it's a very new engine and inside the oil cap lookes super clean.

another thing is that the pipe that says "twin Turbo"is polished grey insted of being corse looking grey.
