Hello.I need help fast. I need to get an OEM like clutch, I would like a frim feel but I only have about 200 bux. Is there a clutch in this range.

Everytime I push in the clutch it whines really loud and when I shift it sounds like its grinding.

Anyone have or know where I can get a new clutch for 200? Thanks.

Here you go, you will though hear a lot of mixed feeling on these clutches. From my personal experience I have had nothing but good things to say about it. I run one on my boosted CRX for about 10k miles now, so I really don't know how it will do on a 240, but thats what I bought for my 240 too but I got the flywheel kit with the clutch, and im going to be instaling it here shortly after Im done with my turbo setup.

while you're in there might as well change your throwout bearing too. i know sometimes they make noises when in nuetral and what not. but it would be a good time to look into getting that replaced

is it just the feel? Mine sounds horrible. It sound like a belt, but it only does it when the clutch is pressed in. Also, when I am letting go of the clutch and pressing the gas, I hear a really loud/ear shattering whine. Its horrible. I was just informed that the clutch on the car is an XTD clutch. What I want to know is could this be because of improper installation? The cluctch was installed a week ago! How does this happen?Any suggestions? Thanks.

i love my xtd, and its 148 dollar price tag

about the noise... when i did mine i think it made that noise when i fired up the car, and for the first few seconds (granted, the car was getting a transmission that hadnt ran in a few years, and had just been filled), maybe even for 30 seconds or so it made a similar noise.

perhaps the person who installed it didnt put the throwout bearing in right. I dont mean the bearing itself i mean a weirdo spring clip that is on the piece the throwout attaches to. Its also possible that he didnt grease anything... but i didnt really either, i just didnt wipe any old grease off. sure it was stupid but i didnt have any problems

i dont know why i didnt say this earlier, but was the flywheel resurfaced? i dont think it would cause this noise...... but my final guess is they installed the throwout bearing backwards.

the XTD koyo is not the same style as you pull off your oem transmission, it is possible to be confused during the install of the new bearing

edit: forgot to mention its possible you only need to adjust your clutch pedal. this works for most people. i replaced the slave cyl at the same time so i had to bleed the piss outta the system. You are probably grinding because the clutch isnt fully disengaging, and in neutral you are rubbing the flywheel.

either adjust clutch pedal, remove distribution box, bleed, or bleed by unbolting the clutch cyl opening it and raising it as high as you can.

I like the clutch when it clamps, it grips hard. But for normal driving I dont think I can take the noise. I will have it looked and see if its just some adjustment issues that need to be taken care of, I thought myself that the bearing is in backwards, but wouldnt that mean that it would grind all the time?It doesnt make the noise all the time, I havent figured out the pattern yet, but it does it often enough to where I dont like it. It makes my skin crawl!

well all your xtd clutchies guy that make noise.. thats usually not good.. last clutch i had that made noise.. it blew out 2 days later.

but reason why i say xtd is cuz they got ****ty feels.. mine doesn't even grip hard or anything, but thank it just doesn't slip or make that noise like you guys have problems with.

my next clutch job i'm going spec clutch all the way.
