Wow I should hire you to be my retrieval expert. I currently have over $1800 loaned out in cash that has not been paid back.Alfador wrote:depending on if its enough to be worth the trouble to you. You can start legal action, at which point they are required to disclose the seller's local info to you care of the authorities. The dont have to give them directly to you, probably smart because I know I'd hunt a few people down and slit their throats if they cheated me out of even $50. (I've broken fingers for $5). In any case, you can then use that proxy-information to file a civil or criminal charge. Also, I pay with a credit card on paypal when possible for double protection. That way I can make a beef via the credit card company if I have to (they usually cooperate pretty well. Also my bank (Bank of America) offers decent protection to buyers as well. Look into the buyer protection options your bank offers.
Yup! That's what happened to me too. The best way is paying with credit card through Paypal and do chargeback if things go wrong. One thing to remember... If you have balance in your Paypal account, you can't pay with credit card. If I feel comfortable with the seller, I use Paypal balance. If not, I transfer all the money to my checking account and use credit card. Seriously, credit card company > Paypal.anumeric wrote:Paypal didnt do **** for me. I also got scammed by a nico member named Winona. After I made a claim and he never responded paypal decided the claim in my favor but said the seller didn't have any funds in his paypal account so they couldn't give me back any of my money. Man I was ****ing pissed.
Did you send M/O through USPS? I mean in the letter w/stamp on? Then it's a mail fraud which is a Federal Crime. Go here and fill out the form. Contact the post office and ask them is there anything they can do for you. Most of the time, they'll try to help you. Like amoalo said USPS takes money order fraud/scam seriously.180sx+silvia=sileighty wrote:No it was money order. not cash
Just go ahead and do it. Don't take any chance. If the bumper comes in, you can cancel the claim/complaint later. He should have let you know what's going on and made sure that you receive the bumper as described no matter what. You never take someone else's money for nothing.180sx+silvia=sileighty wrote:Yea i paid money order through USPS. Uhh thanks for the big help everyone. Should react on the situation now? Or should i wait. What if the bumper comes today or tomorrow? I still hope everyday that it will come. What if i havent been scammed, but the shipment got delayed? Sigh damn it. Sorry to hear about you guys that have been scammed. i know how you guys feel.
