Help!! I only have high beams!?? Where is the fuse for parking lights/headlight?

For some reason when i turn on my headlights the high beams come on automatically? And my parking lights are not working? I don't see on the fuse box where these fuses are? Can anyone help me?? Thanks

Sounds like you have a headlight relay problem, go to http://fuzzycats.com/j30_diy.htm and click on the Headlight link. I got a used relay off of an wrecked J30 and I haven't had any problems, but of course you run into the problem of buying one that is almost ready to got out, so buy at your own discretion.

I got a new one from the local dealership for about 25 bucksBut theres been a price increase since..Should be in the 30's now.

Not too sure on this one, but you might want to check out your actual high beam switch in the stalk too. I've had problems with mine. Sometimes when I turn on a blinker my high beams flicker, so I'm assuming its going bad.

actually, The relay can cause the same problems you described.

the fuse is in the driver side kick panel this happened to me also. all it was is a fuse. i even replaced the relay before checking the fuse which didnt do anything. Replace the fuse!!! even if it looks ok it still can be blown!!!fyi

I can never say never but the chances that a bad fuse would allow only the high beams to operate is hard to believe.

When the parking light fuse shorted out on my j i turned on the headlights and nothing but the high beam would turn on, It is probably a safety feature to prevent loss of all light in case of a short while driving. after i replaced the fuse all was back to normal.
