Help! I must find out what this button does!

Hey fellas,I recently purchased a 95 J30 (w/ 89k) that unfortunately, had no owner's manual. I am left with several questions, what's with the odd flap that goes down in front of my rear view? And how about the stand-alone button towards the front of the sunroof instrument dial - where the map lights are, that apparently serves no purpose. Is it for a garage door opener?Anything else I should know, or better yet-got a 95 J30 manual to sell? Thanks for all the help yo!

First of all, welcome to NICO.

The odd flap in front of your visor is a mini sun visor for those times when the sun is positioned directly between your two sun visors.

The button that appears to be useless is for a mini dome light. It's a very faint light that only comes on if your headlights are on. Try it at night. It should illuminate the area around the gear shifter and part of the radio. You have to try it when it's REALLY dark to be able to tell.

Does your mini visor cover the rear-view mirror? Mine doesn't. But in any case, the mirror automatically dims when someone's brights hit it.

Aren't the self-dimming mirrors on all J30s?
