OK, so where to begin. 6 months ago I blew my alternator, no big deal right...yeah thats what I thought so a couple days later I got the alternator, installed it tryed the car cranks but no start, wierd huh so since then I've replaced practically everything, the fuel sending unit, the fuel pump, the spark plugs (twice) every fuse in the car and relays(under the hood pass. side, and under the dash) the ignition coil, the distributor the distributor cap and rotor, and the ECU. so I've established I have spark, I have gas, I have air, the ecu spit out code 55 (everything ok) and yet the closest i've got in 6 months was it ran for 10 minutes then died(before I replaced the distributor) so now she turns over strong (when the battery has enough juice..lol) but no fire and she kinda sputters from the muffler but thats it. I even tried bump starting it. Everyone I've talked to has offered me a thousand things to check or replace I've replaced them all and checked the ones I can't afford such as the MAF I looked at it it looked like it was in good working order. So here I am begging for an answer from the car gods as to where or what I missed and what the hell my little ***** wants.

Hey I'm having the same problem. Although I have replaced wayyy less parts than that. But I know i'm getting fuel, spark, and the starter is turning the engine. my car had problems on cold starts and one day it didn't start. I tryed for a good 10 -15 min and it turned over but it chugged and never cought on. I replaced the fuel pump because i didn't hear it pressurizing when the igniton was on. and it didn;t start

one of my good mechanic friends say it may be timing or i don;t have injector pulse. My ecu self-diagnosis says 55 .

Sounds like the same problem

i don;t have the time to fix it myself because of work school and sports so i'm sending it to my friends shop. i'll post back with the results if anyone else doesn't first

ok well i got it fixed!

basically it was te electronics in the key switch thing in the steering column.

It wasn;t letting the injectors spray all the time. they would kick on for a split secong when the key went from start to on position. but then it shorts not letting fuel or spark go.

the part cost me 35 dollars from napa

to test it I used an injector pulse light and wiggled the electronics on the end of the key cylender thing to see if it cut out

my igniton coil was also a bit old but that wasn't the problem

hope this helps --------

I'm having the same problem with my 91 240sx. Changed everything but no start. Did you have any luck getting your vehicle to start. Any tips would be appreciated

I checked my ecu and had 11 + 21 codes. I took the ignition coil to advance auto and it checked ok. I dug deep into my pockets and ordered a new distributor. It will be in Tuesday. I'll let you know how it turns out.

I picked up the distributor today and installed it in my vehicle. Started right up. It was the CAS.
