Hi all,

need some help regarding my powersteering system. The other day I went to move my car, 3 day parking minimum, when I shut off the car I noticed smoke coming from the engine bay. Looked under the car and notice my powersteering fluid was leeking. Popped open the hood and sure enough, the high pressure line was spraying fluid all over my header.

Nissan sales that line for over 200 bucks, wtf? Are there any other alternatives for this line. I believe I've seen a metal braded line sold from Driftday.com or something. Anyone have any luck with the metal lines and where I can find them.

Also I'm wondering, since my line is bad, what else might go wrong with my steering system. Should I just replace the entire system; steering rack, powersteering lines, bushings?

thanks.

You can go to the junkyard and yank one for cheap, clean it up and put it on like I did. Looks like new and only cost me $10. There's some guy on ebay selling stainless steel braided high pressure lines for like $100 plus shipping. Or you could get a brand new high pressure line for $150 from places like autopartswarehouse, nissanparts.cc, etc.
