Ok I just got my oil changed for the first time today, and when I pulled out of the garage, there are quite a few drops of old dirty oil on the floor? AHH!?!?! Whats going on? Just some left overs dripping off? Or should I take it back to the place that changed it? Am I an idiot? I DONT KNOW ANYMORE?!?!?!

I think you should look at it somemore. Maybe is just left over. if its still leaking then take it back they might not have tightened it well

Well I noticed the oil when I got back from dropping my car off at the tint shop..I had to get my tint redone since I got a $125 dollar ticket monday...anyhow if its still leaking when I get it back I'll check the drain plug, hopefully its no big deal

i used to change oil at a shop and when the old filter is taken off it will usually leak some...depending on how the filter is angle it could have leaked onto the engine...that may be the dripping you see...also like thatguyin240 said they may not have tightend (SP?) the drain plug all the way

Holy sh.it. Just get under there and tighten it yourself. Double check the filter too, but remember it doesn't need to be super tight. The heat will tighten it up.

If you can turn a doorknob you can turn a bolt, no?

Technically.... there is less mechanics involved in tightening a bolt. Although... I guess turning a door knob doesn't require any 'specialized' tools.:rolleyes

i would go with what Excedio said. probably just old stuff from removing the filter dripping out. happens to me all the time. but i would at least get under there and see if you can tell where it's from. heck just drive back there and have them look at it. they should check it out for ya no questions asked.

DONT overtighten it.

You will strip it.The plug should be handtight.

hey.. this exact thing happened to me too, right after i took it to a oil change, when i pull out, i too see a few drops of oil on the floor, and i am guessing they are left over, but how long will it take for all the left over to go away? coz. when i check again this morning.. the number of drops has reduce to like 3 -4 drops. and they are directly under where the oil fliter is, so i am guess they really are left overs. hopefully it will not leak any more tonite. and i also check the oil level and the oil filter too , the oil level is good and the filter is tighten.. so plz wish me luck here..

ps. i too paid 7k for this car, hope i didn't get myself a bad car.. : (

At least its just a lose oil plug or filter. I have a rear main seal that has seen better days. A month after i got my oil changed, i had to put 2qts in. :(

And specialk, that avitar is ****ing hilarious. it reminds me of the time when i drop kicked a football and hit this girl cause she was making fun of how we kicked into the wind. she played soccer and told us she was better, so i got pissed, grabbed the ball, and drop-kicked it as they were walking around the track, and low-and-behold, it hit her right on the head. i didnt feel the least bit sorry:D
