Cant for sure figure out where the leak is coming from but I seem to have a larger space between the hatch and the quarter glass. I compared it to my husbands car and his space is alot thinner ?? how do you fix this ? Its all the way around I dont want rust :*( the Grey car is my husbands and the blue mine the pictures dont really show how different the width.

it's not just the taillights. try checking the seams on where two metal joints are sealed. chances are the seam seal has worn off and need resealing.

The seal around the hatch where the hatch closes to the frame probably needs to be replaced.

It is really easy to do it, and you can find a good seal from a partout - Nissan was really high i think

The seals also around the taillights...

The best thing to do, is remove trunk carpeting, backseats, and panels

Then drive through an automatic carwash. The pressure from the sprayer will show you exactly where you're leaking!

Also the gap on my hatch was a lot bigger then yours and it never leaked. This is a rundown spot anyways.

If there is a lake in your spare tie holder then you are leaking from the tails most likely. It'll rust up fast if you dont repair it.

Check tail light seals as well as trunk/hatch area. Best way to figure this out is to have a friend run a hose over your car while you are in the trunk and see where the water pours in, that's how I figured mine out.

In the meantime, remove the spare tire and remove the rubber drain plug -It gets rid of the lake fast
