Jack up the egnine by the transmission bell housing, remove the engine mounts, remove oil pan. Its not that simple but that is a basic overview.

You either need to jack the engine up, or use a hoist to lift it. Otherwise you wont get the clearance you need between the oil pan and the suspension member. Remove the mounts first, because they bolt the engine to the suspension member, which are the two things you are trying to seperate.

Ok, i'll be getting a hold of a floor jack soon, could you tell me what i need to do to jack the engine up? Like what to look out for and where to put the jack. Also do i have to take out any motor mounts?

Read my first post.

Damn. I dont mean to be an @sshole, but I stated TWICE that you have to remove the mounts!

Sorry for being an idiot, i was aware that you already answered the questions, but when i wrote that reply, i was rather tired and pissed off. :bash What I was really hoping is that you could help me find out where exactly all of the mounts are, and like where exactly on the bell housing of the transmission to jack up. I have a wood block on the end of the jack, but being the novice I am, i'm reluctant to just stick it on there and start jacking up. I'd hate to have my engine fall back down. :help

Uhh, nevermind that either hehe, i wrote that before i looked really hard. Now i'm having trouble removing the nuts on the bottom that hold the motor mounts on. I put the jack under the transmission and jacked it up a little, but they nuts are still real tight hehe

god ****ing damnit, i can't get the drivers side motormount nut out !!!! i hate this, the nut is rounding off too.... what should i do, i can't get enough torque out of this 14mm wrench to break it loose, and im using pb lubricant. I had to use a big torque wrench, and a socket to get the other oen off, but the socket won't stay on this one anymore.

Yes i sweared at it very much

Yes i used the right sized socket, but the only way to get the motormount is to use a long extension and that kept coming off, therefore rounding it.

I wish there was enough room to stick a pipe in it and pull it off.

I have a couple pairs of vice grips, and it doesn't look like they'll fit to get that nut off.

(I'm only talking about getting the drivers side motor mount off, not the oil pan, that came out fine)

I couldnt get the nut the that holds the mount to the suspension member off no matter how hard I tried. I had to take off the the four bolts that hold the mount to the engine. Pain in the @ss to get a few of them off, but it worked.

You could also just remove the nut on top of the mount, and not the entire bracket from the block. I usually just pull the crossmember when I do it. Boredom makes you do strange things.

To get the other nut off put the wrench up their and hit it with a hammer, hold the wrench on though. That will work if you cant get a bar through their.

That helped me get the oil pan out, thanks. Now im looking for something that'll clean the oil pan. Like something that cleans oil, but leaves no residue i guess?
