help i got it bad

aiight i got a 93 hatch n recently its like my car decided to crap on me .... aiight well here what i already know. ive done the diagnostics test n got i think it was codes 32 n 34 ... something wit the egr valve n detionation(knock) sensor. those probs never really affected anything but some missfiring here n there. bout yesterday the crap i was talking bout kicked ...

after running through a car wash when i turn it on i got a few unusal bogs. got home the car just died in neutral. cranked it up later the in the day problem is so much worse ... shaking like crazy some messed up idol n to top if off black smoke wit every puff. i waited a day cause it was already night so then i wake up its still there(duh) but i try driving it out. i get some really bad boggin and every now n then while gassin it it seemed normal. but then commin up to the lights or stops signs or just not accelerating gas pressure it would bog out n die. n ya still shootin out black smoke all over the place. when i rev it up n try to hold it to like maybe 3500 it shoots back n forth between that n 3000 like on every bang. i

really derno whats going on here. i changed out spark plugs n wires cleaned out throttle body n sensors, changed injectors looked if my connections were pluged in n no hoses were loose or out or cracked n after that i get basically nothing. it'll idol a little better now but it only last for seconds at a time then its back to sameo sameo n still as much smoke as before poping n shakin whatever ... any ideas on what i can check or try to do or anything

aiight now ... i got some carb/intake cleaner cause i was cheackin out my maf sensor n it was guncked so i cleaned it up n throttle boddy too. i let it set in dry up cracked over a few time n it was workin a lil better but still sameo. sound like all i did was help the car get more air. well then next thing i waited till morning which it right now ... now the car cranked over the first try n when i went to give it some gas damn thing shut off ... now car will crank but it wont start ... wtf? help ...

aight some ideas that have came up for the problem have been egr is stuck on open, pcv dont work, fuel pump quit, n the cat broke ... i derno these are something people have told me ... what do u guys think ... im trying to do what i can before it towed to a machanic, i wanna atleast drive it there

pcv wont do that, cat wont do it, have you checked the injectors

your not supposed to use carb cleaner on the MAF ... it leaves a film of oil that your MAF doesnt need.. you use brake cleaner for maf's .... start with that.

didn't happen to get water in the intake somehow?? and check ur oil, the original engine in my car had the same symptoms, and it turned out to be cracked cylinder head....

try to see if your spark plugs have good contact

i checked for spark ... i get spark to my coil but not to my wires ... i took off the cap n saw the spark, then put it back on no spark to wire. so i changed the rotor thinking that was the reason for no spark. then changed the cap too. still same thing. damn changed out distributer n retimed it. still same prob. i derno what else to think.

Test the wires for resistance.

You may have gotten water into the distributer when you washed the car. This would cause it to do just what you said it did. Get a blower of some sort, pull the plug wires, and blow down into the plug holes. See if you get some vapor coming up.

Replace the cap as well if it has a bunch of white deposits on the leads.

Pull your spark plugs ... see if they are wet w/ fuel. If they are test the fuel pressure regulator for correct pressure regulation and operation.

Verify all your vacuum lines are intact and plugged in.

It almost sounds like the EGR is stuck open, which would cause a bad misfire and a rich running condition. Try blocking off the EGR and see if the idle corrects itself.

To test the MAF, start engine and remove the connector. If the idle smooths out then you have a bad MAF (like me).

aiight about that erg thing ... im thinking that might be my prob. how do i go about fixing it from being stuck open???
