About two weeks ago, my altima was in a hit and run while it was parked and thankfully, it was repaired quickly and I picked it up this morning. UNFORTUNATELY, I found this bolt that the mechanic left in the center console cupholder. Being the perfectionist that I am, I need to know what it is that they forgot to finish. If anyone recognizes this bolt, please help. I would go back to the body shop but they don't open until Monday. Thanks

Obviously, it'a a torx or star screw. According to a googled image, it's looks like the 'button head dash screw', if that's any help.

I'm assuming you meant you have not seen anything like this before? I've taken apart the front half before but not so much the back where the repair was done so I had no idea where this was from. I guess I'll have to check with the body shop on Monday, Thanks anyways

When I googled 'torx bolt', then clicked on 'image results', the closest thing to your photo was a pix of a "button head dash screw", so I figured it might have come from somewhere in the dash area. Similar images are also listed under 'fender bolts'. Sorry for the confusion. Did they have to go into the dash to reset anything? Actually, more than once, after getting my car back from a shop, I've found small parts like a screw or a nut or a washer lying somewhere in my car like the floor or ash tray that were not even from my vehicle. Small tools too. Also, I would check that all those 2-part plastic fender/bumper clips are all there. Several times shops have failed to replace one or two, especially in the wheel wells, probably 'cause they broke them on removal & didn't bother to replace 'em. I bought a bag of 25 for $5 on ebay & they also come in handy when I break 'em myself.

Yeah I'm planning on going back tomorrow to the shop to ask and complain. I also found out that 2 of my windows were scratched and the tint needs to be completely replaced. The plastic trim on the inside under the rear window was also scratched and torn and I'm just frustrated by all of this. On top of that, I asked to keep the old broken tail light in the trunk so I can take it home and they forgot to do that too. Not to mention the paint job doesn't exactly match and 2 of my friends pointed it out to me before I even told them about getting it painted. Overall just disappointed by their work and hopefully they cooperate when I bring it up tomorrow  :wtf2:

Sorry to hear about that. When I had major collision work done recently, my insurance adjuster asked for feedback on my satisfaction with the body shop's work. Luckily, I've been dealing with this shop for over a dozen years & never had a problem. They even painted my engine cover & eyelids body color. Maybe you could contact your ins. co. to address the issue.ImageImage(sorry Sano if I screwed up again)
